**Latest major release is .NET 7. Microsoft publishes new major releases of .NET every year in November.** 👉  Odd numbered releases are STS releases, while even releases are LTS. e.g. .NET 7 is STS. 
 👉 The quality of all releases is the same. The only difference is the length of support. LTS releases get free support and patches for 3 years. STS releases get free support and patches for 18 months.

What is the latest major version of .NET?

👉 IEnumerable<T> is suitable for querying data from in-memory collections like List, Array and so on. Think it like LINQ-to-object. 
 👉 IQueryable<T> inherits IEnumerable<T> and provides functionality to evaluate queries. So if you further refine your query on an IQueryable<T>, that query will be executed in the database, if possible. Think it like LINQ-to-SQL. 
 &nbsp; 👉 This is quite an important difference, and working on IQueryable<T> can in many cases save you from returning too many rows from the database. &nbsp; 
 Another prime example is doing paging: If you use [Take](https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/api/system.linq.queryable.take?redirectedfrom=MSDN&view=net-7.0#System_Linq_Queryable_Take__1_System_Linq_IQueryable___0__System_Int32_) and Skip on IQueryable, you will only get the number of rows requested; doing that on an IEnumerable<T> will cause all of your rows to be loaded in memory. 
 BTW, both provide deferred execution.
